Artist Bio

Elizabeth Winterbone loves creating direct, energetic connections with people through custom art. “I’m amazed at how much time I end up thinking about the watercolor’s recipient, as well as the caring person who commissioned it for them,” says Elizabeth. “I believe what I really do is paint with my heart.”

Although she’s traveled the world and lived on the east coast, west coast and in England, she is content these days to draw and paint at her old oak dining table in the historic Riverside neighborhood of Wichita, Kansas with her dogs Betsy and Rosie curled up nearby.

“I’ve always loved handcrafting thoughtful cards and gifts, so teaching myself watercolor techniques expanded the possibilities,” explains Winterbone. “As more and more goods are mass-produced, I’m increasingly determined to preserve the art of the gracious gift.” Her work is inspired by home, family, nature and love, and often evokes a sweet nostalgia for a bygone spirit of hospitality and a gentler pace of life.
